In the crowds
- Agree a meeting point by gate number (e.g. "King Fahd Gate 79"), not a landmark everyone uses
- Share live location with your group before you go in
- Wear a wristband or card with your name, hotel and phone number. It's essential for children and elderly relatives.
- Don't push. In a dense crowd, move with it and work your way to the edge.
- Note your nearest exit when you settle anywhere
If you lose someone
- Go to the meeting point and wait
- Ask security staff or a Haram information desk. Lost-children points exist in both mosques.
- Call your hotel reception
- Contact your embassy if you can't find them after several hours
If you lose belongings
- Report it at the Haram lost & found office
- File a police report for passports and valuables
- Keep photos of your passport and visa on your phone and in your email
Valuables
Use a zipped pouch worn under your clothing, keep phones in front pockets, and leave passports in the hotel safe unless you need them.
